How long does it take for INVEGA SUSTENNA to be removed from your body?    

  • When INVEGA SUSTENNA is injected into a muscle, it dissolves slowly. It is broken down into paliperidone, the active ingredient in INVEGA SUSTENNA, and absorbed into the bloodstream.1
  • After receiving an injection of INVEGA SUSTENNA, the release of the drug starts as early  as day 1 and lasts as long as 126 days.1
  • The median ("middle") time it takes for half of the paliperidone (the main component in INVEGA SUSTENNA) to be eliminated from the body after a single dose of 39 mg to 234 mg is between 25 and 49 days.1
