Summary
- During the reconstitution of RISPERDAL CONSTA, it is important to inject the entire contents of the syringe containing the diluent into the vial.1
- During administration of RISPERDAL CONSTA, it is important to inject the entire contents of the syringe intramuscularly into the selected gluteal or deltoid muscle of the patient to assure that the intended dose of risperidone is delivered.1
- It is not recommended to attempt to administer a partial dose of RISPERDAL CONSTA. When RISPERDAL CONSTA is reconstituted for administration, the extended release microspheres are suspended in diluent. Particles within a suspension are not distributed in a uniform matter. To assure that the intended dose of risperidone is delivered, the full contents from the vial must be administered. Administration of partial contents may not deliver the intended dose.1
