SUMMARY
- In clinical trials, SPRAVATO was self-administered by the patient while under healthcare professional (HCP) supervision.1-7
- Administration of SPRAVATO by an HCP has not been studied in clinical trials. If the decision has been made to have SPRAVATO administered by an HCP, it is important to ensure that all steps in the administration section of the product label are followed, including proper reclining of the head, placement of the device in the nose, and timely coordination of breathing through the nose while the medication is being administered.8
- According to the administration instructions, while closing the opposite nostril, the patient should breathe in through the nose while the plunger is pushed and gently sniff in after spraying to keep the medication inside the nose. The same steps should be repeated in the opposite nostril.8
