The goals of the SIBAT are to include both clinician and patient-reported information needed to assess suicide risk, differentiate measures of suicide risk prone to rapid change (eg, suicidal ideation) from those that are not (eg, history of suicidal behavior), document clinician’s assessment of imminent and long-term suicide risk along with the management plan for the patient, and meet regulatory standards for use in clinical trials.1
The SIBAT is comprised of 8 modules (5 patient self-reported modules and 3 clinician-rated modules) that capture information on demographics, known suicide risk factors, history of suicidal behavior, and severity of suicide ideation (See Table: The Suicide Ideation and Behavior Assessment Tool Modules).1,2
